Optimum (best) viewing distance of led screen is the viewing distance providing the audience with the best visual experience of watching the led display screen and no color cast.
In fact, it is very hard to define this because there are too many influence factors, such as the pixel pitch, the screen size, the brightness, the display content(video, image, or letters) etc. Moreover it’s very subjective matter because different people have different feeling.
So to discuss further on this, we’d better bring out some assumptions. Here we assume the brightness of led screen is enough, the resolution is enough, and we would discuss the relationship between the led video screen size and the optimum viewing distance.
From our experience as the manufacturer, and with the reference of other visual media field, we conclude the minimum viewing distance of led screen is 3 times of the screen height. The target audience standing further than this minimum viewing distance would not feel tired by watching the led screen long time, as well, they would see clear all the video or information on the led screen; the maximum viewing distance of led screen is 5 times of the screen height. The target audience standing shorter than this maximum viewing distance would not feel disturbed by the environment, and could be concentrated into the video or information.
So the optimum viewing distance of led display should be 3-5 times of the screen height.
And since the 16:9 is just the ratio of human sight, you’d find out also the screen width, and the best size of your led screen.
