What is the refresh rate for LED screen?

The refresh rate of a LED screen is the number of times in a second that the LED screen hardware draws the data,that is the number of times a frame is redrawn per second. 

For example, most movie projectors advance from one frame to the next one 24 times each second. But each frame is illuminated two or three times before the next frame is projected using a shutter in front of its lamp. As a result, the movie projector runs at 24 frames per second, but has a 48 or 72 Hz refresh rate.

If the refresh rate is too low, you may be able to notice the “redrawing” of the image, which we perceive as a flicker. Screen flickering is unpleasant to look at and can quickly lead to eye strain and headaches,it normally happens if the refresh rate is set below 60 Hz, but may also occur with higher refresh rates for some people.

High refresh rate led screen is stable, no ripples, no flicker, display real and natural.However, if a refresh rate is specified that is beyond what is recommended for the LED screen, LED screen processor will have to spend more time to draw the frame to the screen, so overall brightness can decrease.Or if the led screen hardware does not capable of high frequencies,damage to the display will occur.

What levels of refresh rate for different kinds of LED screens?

Normally 960Hz refresh rate is good enough for most of the LED screens. And if the LED screen needs to display high speed action videos, or the LED display will be shot by the camera, the LED screen needs to have over 2550Hz refresh rate.

How to increase the refresh rate reasonably?

1)Hard ware.The driving IC plays a key role for refresh rate in the screen system.So we can choice high refresh rate IC like MBI5051, MBI5252, MBI5153, etc.What’s more,a good PCB design also could helps to increase the refresh rate.

2)Software.The display control software would also be very important to the refresh rate. The display software comes from the display hardware. So a good display control hardware is necessary.
